On the extra day off
“It was good having a Friday game and then having Saturday off. I was able to kick my feet up and watch film and watch college football all day. We have Mondays off physically, so today was our first practice today. So a few days of rest and we all needed it for sure."
On Purdue
"Purdue is a good football team. They are a veteran team. They are experienced. I am sure you guys know it by now. If you look at the depth chart and scouting report, they have a lot of juniors and seniors on the field on defense. They are very sound. They are physical. They have a lot of experience. That is the main thing I see on film. They run different coverages. They have some good length. One of their corners is 6'3. And they have some good size on the backend at defensive back and nickel. They seem to do a good job athletically, but they are very sound and very experienced, so that is what I have seen on film."
On Tommi Hill
"Last week they switched Tommi (Hill) and he is just a natural. He is a great route runner. He has great hands and he has incredible speed. A lot of people are going to be surprised with what they see from him. We see it right now on a daily basis. Tommi took a lot of reps with me and the ones, and I think we are 100-percent connected on the deep ball. He does a good job at catching the ball and running good routes, so I am really excited with what he is doing, and I am definitely impressed for sure. Now that he is on the offensive side, I asked him if it is different seeing the ball and he said he can see why it is difficult to defend those deep balls when they come down like that. Him and Trey (Palmer) are really good, so I think they will compliment each other well."
On Trey Palmer
"We just try to make plays when our number is called. Like I said, Trey (Palmer) works hard. A lot of people see Trey as how fast he is, but what I see is Trey works hard on a daily basis and I told you guys earlier in the season we are going to continue to push Trey and the rest of the receivers. And also the coaches are pushing me hard to make every throw. We just had a lot of reps, so we are getting better at practice. Our timing is better. Our chemistry is getting better. Trey does a good job. When the fourth quarter starts Trey always comes over and says 'if you need someone to make a play, I will make a play for you.' And he made a play for us. Even on that play, there was good protection. Good momentum coming off the interception that the defense got. And it was a big play... I know he is going to be down there, so I just throw it up to him."
On momentum of winning two Big Ten games in a row
"We want to build a culture of winning around here, but we have to focus on the process and winning on a daily basis. So, we are just focused on taking one day at a time and one week at a time. I think since Mickey Joseph has taken over he has done a good job at allowing us to focus on the task at hand and not get too ahead of ourselves. Before we can talk about any end of the season awards and accolades and goals, we just have to take it one day at a time. It is good for us to take one game at a time and continue the win streak."
