Ariel Gonzalez is in seventh place, and Lena Hassert is tied for eighth after two rounds at the Big O Classic at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha on Monday.
A group of three Nebraska women's golfers are competing as individuals at the Big O Classic. Gonzalez, a freshman, fired an even-par 73 in the second round following a 79 in the first round for a 36-hole total of 152 (+6). Gonzalez recorded five birdies in her second round.
Hassert, a sophomore, recorded rounds of 74 and 79 for a total of 153 (+7) with the final round still to play on Tuesday. In her opening round, Hassert recorded an eagle two on the 347-yard par-4 fifth hole en route to tying her career-best round of 74 as a Husker.
Redshirt freshman Brooke Bream also competed as an individual for the Huskers and is tied for 56th place. Bream and Gonzalez are making their first career collegiate appearances.
Creighton's Eleanor Hudepohl leads the field at 144 (-2). Gonzalez sits four shots out of second place heading into the final round.
