Huskers off to Solid Start at Badger Invite

Madison, Wisc. -  Evan McDermott and Jeremy Sisson led the way for the Nebraska men's golf team through two rounds of the Badger Invitational Monday. 

McDermott, the Spring Lake, Mich. native, shot a 72 (+1) in his first round on Sunday before he posted a 75 (+4) in his second round Monday at the individual tournament. He sits in a tie for sixth place on the individual leaderboard. The third and final round of individual action tees off at 8 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday.

Jeremy Sisson (Jr., Skaneateles, N.Y.) posted a stellar first round score of 68 (-4) to lead the Huskers, which tied his career-best round. Quinn Yost, the true freshman, put up a solid first round score of 74 (+2). Will Marshall, the senior from Elburn, Ill., also put up a 74 (+2) in his first round of action. 

The Husker contingent was rounded out by Harry Crockett, who shot a 75 (+3). Reed Malleck managed a seven-over 79. As a team, the Big Red sit in 10th place through one round with a team aggregate score of three-over 291. 

Nebraska will look to continue their solid effort thus far when action resumes in the Badger Invitational Tuesday. Action tees off at 8 a.m (CT).
