Nebraska gymnast Emma Spence earned three bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Spence competed for Team Canada as a Senior National Team Member.
Spence opened the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, July 30, earning a bronze medal in the team competition. She finished with an all-around score of 50.850 and qualified for all four event finals as well as the all-around competition.
On Sunday, July 31, Spence earned her second bronze medal, finishing third in the all-around competition with a score of 52.350.
Spence claimed her third bronze medal on Tuesday, August 2, in the balance beam final. She notched a 13.066.
On Monday, August 1, Spence competed in the vault and uneven bars event finals. She notched a 13.050 on vault, finishing fourth. On uneven bars, Spence earned a 12.733, finishing sixth. Spence finished the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday in the floor exercise event final, earning a 12.966 and finishing in fourth place.
