Huskers Close Music City Classic

Smyrna, Tenn - The Nebraska bowling team placed twelfth on the final day of the Music City Classic Sunday afternoon.

The Huskers kicked off best-of-seven baker-style bracket play against No. 7 Louisiana Tech and fell 4-0. Nebraska lost the first two games (182-174, and 216-206). The bowlers fought hard in the third game, but were edged out (209-206), and fell in game four (179-172).

In the second match, Nebraska faced Youngstown St., and lost 4-0. Unlucky throws kept NU from victory in the first three games (197-189, 196-176, and 186-172), and even with our improved performance, Youngstown St. took game four (242-190), ending the match.

Moving on, NU faced Lincoln Memorial, but fell 4-3 in an intense seven-round match. The bowlers lost the first three games (207-166, 195-192, and 179-159), but retaliated to take the fourth game by a score of 231-215. Nebraska kept pushing and took game five by 233-158. The Huskers evened the score in the sixth game with a win (181-166), but fell in the final game (211-191).

The Huskers will return to competition April 8-9 for NCAA Regionals.
