Nebraska student-athletes continue to achieve at a high rate in the classroom, continuing a long-standing tradition of academic excellence in Husker athletics.
At the conclusion of the 2021 fall semester, Nebraska's all student-athlete cumulative grade-point average stood at 3.327. The all student-athlete cumulative GPA is the highest at Nebraska since the metric was first tracked during the 1992-93 academic year.
"I continue to be impressed by the outstanding academic accomplishments of our athletes," Nebraska Executive Associate AD/Academics Dennis Leblanc said. "I am thankful to all of our coaches for recruiting individuals who truly understand the positive impact that their Nebraska student-athlete experience will have on their future."
The impressive cumulative grade-point average follows a number of recent and long-term academic milestones for Husker Athletics.
- In December, Nebraska's Graduation Success Rate for all student-athletes hit an all-time high of 95 percent. The Huskers' 95 percent GSR ranked third in the Big Ten and fourth among 109 public FBS institutions.
- During the fall semester, 114 Nebraska student-athletes from the sports of football, volleyball, soccer and men's and women's cross country received Academic All-Big Ten recognition.
- Nebraska had 419 of its student-athletes named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for the fall semester (3.0 GPA or higher) with 66 individuals earning a 4.0 GPA
- Nebraska leads all Division I schools with 347 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans across all sports.
- Nebraska leads the nation with 18 NCAA Today's Top 10 Award winners.
