Huskers Keep First At End Of Day Two


Jonesboro, Ark - The Nebraska bowling team keeps their first place spot heading into the final day of the Mid-Winter Invitational.

The Huskers started traditional style play with a win against Alabama A&M (983-780). In match two, Nebraska faced off against Jackson St. and took their second win (1,160-965). NU took on Maryville in match three and claimed a third win (1,069-1,011). The Huskers faced off against Youngstown St. and claimed another win (1,118-966). Nebraska ended the day with a final match against Wisconsin Whitewater(1,042-998), finishing day two undefeated.

Cassidy Ray leads the team in sixth place with a total pinfall of 1,120 and an average of 224. Kendyl Hofmeister had a total pinfall of 1,113 with an average of 222.6, landing her in eighth place. Kayla Verstraete(1,093, 218.4) placed 11th with Michelle Guarro (1,086, 217.2) right behind in 12th. Crystal Elliott finished in 49th with a total pinfall of 961 and an average of 192.2. 

The Huskers continue bowling at 8:30 a.m. with three bracket-style games on Sunday against Wisconsin Whitewater.
