Lambrechts Jr. Garners Weekly Big Ten Honor

Nebraska track and field's Burger Lambrechts Jr. was named the Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
Lambrechts Jr. won the shot put at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite last weekend with a launch of 65-9 1/2 (20.05m).
 
With that mark, the senior leads the Big Ten and ranks fifth nationally in the shot put this season.
 
The Nebraska track and field team will split between meets in Arkansas and Kansas this weekend. A portion of the team will be competing at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., while part of the team will head to the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
