Las Vegas, Nev. - Nebraska remains in fifth heading into the final day of Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic.
Nebraska began day two of the tournament with a loss to No. 1 Stephen F. Austin (876-1,008) and followed this match with a bye. The Huskers then claimed a victory against Spalding by a score of 950-736. The Huskers ran with this momentum to take another win against No. 5 Vanderbilt by a close score of 1,138-991. Nebraska finished the day strong with a final win over No. 2 McKendree (1,147-999).
Two Huskers made the Top 15 during individual play. Cassidy Ray secured third place overall with a total pinfall of 1,090. Gwen Maeha had a total pinfall of 1,020, landing her in 14th. Kayla Verstraete followed closely behind and took 20th (1,005). Crystal Elliott sat in 33rd with a total pinfall of 966 and Michelle Guarro not far behind in 35th with 956 pinfall.
Bracket play will begin Monday at 8 a.m.
