Four Huskers Set to Compete at K-State Winter Invitational

Four Nebraska track and field athletes will compete at the K-State Winter Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Ahearn Fieldhouse in Manhattan, Kan.

Alex Talley and Maxwell Otterdahl are set to compete in the weight throw and shot put, while Burger Lambrechts Jr. and Axelina Johansson will compete in the shot put.

Lambrechts Jr. returns after placing fifth in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships last season, while Talley, Otterdahl and Johansson are set to make their Husker debuts on Saturday. The fifth-place finish is the best finish by a Husker male in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships since 2004.

While at North Dakota State last season, Talley finished third in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw and Otterdahl placed eighth in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Johansson will make her collegiate debut on Saturday. Before arriving at Nebraska, Johansson represented Sweden at the World U20 Championships and European U20 Championships.
