Huskers Ready for Intrastate Dual

After a month of competing against some of the nation's top competitors at the Mizzou Invitational and the U.S. Open Championships, Nebraska swim and dive's full roster will travel to Omaha for an intrastate dual on Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m.

The last meeting between the Huskers and the Mavs came on Jan. 18, 2020, when Nebraska captured its 23rd straight victory over Omaha, 202-88.

Nebraska heads into Friday with a 4-1 dual record, while Omaha sits at 2-1 on the season. The Mavs had a notable win over South Dakota State on Nov. 13 (170-105). The Huskers hosted the Jackrabbits earlier this season and cruised to a 189-54 victory.

Omaha's lone dual loss of the season came against Iowa State, a team Nebraska defeated 186-114.

At the Summit League Championships last season, the Mavs swam to a fourth-place team finish.

Last week, nine Huskers earned spots among the nation's best and competed in Greensboro, N.C., at the U.S. Open Championships. Five NU swimmers placed in the top 10. Freshman Maia Hall provided the top finish for the Big Red with an A-final qualification and eighth-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:38.43). Fellow freshman Milica Opacic notched a ninth-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly (1:00.95), while Shannon Stott (200-meter butterfly), Ella Stein (100-meter breaststroke) and Autumn Haebig (200-meter freestyle) each added 10th-place finishes.
