Houston, TX- The Huskers bowling team returned to the Track Kat Klash on Saturday and finished the day with an overall record of 8-2 and a total pinfall of 10,252. This performance landed the Huskers the second seed heading into the final day of competition.
The Huskers started the day strong with a win against Alabama A&M (1,138-784). NU continued with the momentum from that win to beat Texas Southern (1,029-772) and Alabama State (922-908). Nebraska took their only loss of the day against Louisiana Tech (986-1,119) and then bounced back to finish the day with a win against Maryville (1,016-970).
Junior Crystal Elliott landed in second place in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,128. Joining her in the Top 25 is Kendyl Hofmeister sitting in 11th (1,046) and Kayla Verstraete in 14th (1,027).
Nebraska will face North Carolina A&T in the opening round of the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament on Sunday morning at 8:20 a.m. (CT).
