Linebacker Nick Henrich
On defensive play and long run at end
“Yeah I mean I don’t know. We just did not get a stop when we needed to. We lost some momentum. The defense needs to move onto the next play at the end of the day and we did not.”
On the confidence at the end of the game
“I think everyone on the sideline was just like next play next play next play so I think we did a good job doing that but at the end of the day we did not get a stop when we needed to and that is what counts.”
On what is missing on the team
“I honestly do not know but I know we are going to work and figure out what it is and do whatever it takes.”
On missing three defensive players
“Those three players are game changers for sure and we are going to miss them a lot not just as football players but as men. I think they taught this defense and program a lot about how to play the home and how to show up for work every day. I love all those guys and we are going to miss them a lot.”
On younger defensive players
“It seemed like Myles (Farmer) and (Isaac) Gifford and all those guys have stepped up and played some good ball so I am expecting those guys to take another big jump this upcoming season and roll.”
On feeling after game
“I think it is important to remember how this feels the sting. There is nothing like this feeling it is the worst. When you do not feel like showing up for work you have to remember why you do and get better so this does not happen again.”
On message to players eligible to come back
“We need everyone back and would love everyone back. I think we built a good culture this season that everyone on the team can feel so I think that will help. But at the end of the day we support what everyone decides.”
On Adrian Martinez
“I think it is important to give him some space and let him make whatever decision is best for him. Again. He is an incredible man and leader and whatever he decides we will support him 100 percent because we love him.”
