Seniors Dario Huber and Victor Moreno Lozano were selected to compete in the ITA National Fall Championships taking place in San Diego next weekend.
The duo earned an at-large bid in the tournament after a semifinal appearance in the ITA Regionals, which took place last weekend at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. They knocked off the seventh seed in the main doubles draw en route to a 3-1 record. That record marked the Huskers' best double record of the tournament.
Huber and Lozano are only the second team from Nebraska to be selected for the tournament, with Toby Boyer and Micah Klousia making the tournament back in 2018. However, this will mark Huber's second appearance in the ITA National Championships as he qualified in 2019 while playing for Indianapolis.
The tournament will feature 32 men's doubles teams in the main draw, with a consolation bracket beginning after the first day. It will take place at the Barnes Tennis Center from Nov. 4-7 and will be the final event for both Huskers in the fall. The ITA National Fall Championships are in their fifth year and replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in 2017.
