Huskers Ready for Rich Harvest Farms

The Nebraska men's golf team hits the road for the second straight weekend, journeying to the Rich Harvest Farms Invitational in Sugar Grove, Ill., Oct. 2-4.

Northern Illinois University hosts the three-day, 54-hole event on one of the nation's finest courses. The 12-team field at Rich Harvest Farms will face a par-72, 7,200-yard layout with single rounds on Saturday and Sunday beginning with tee times at 9 a.m. (CT). The tournament concludes with Monday's final round and a 9:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start. Live scoring will be provided by GolfStat.com.

The field will feature a strong Big Ten flavor, as the Huskers are joined by Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin at the event. Arkansas State, James Madison, Kansas State, Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Missouri and the hosts from Northern Illinois round out the dozen teams competing for the team title.

Nebraska's five-player lineup will be led by senior Tom Westenberger (Wuppertal, Germany). Junior Will Marshall (Elburn, Ill.), who produced NU's top finish last week at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., will play out of the No. 2 position, while senior Tristan Nelko makes his second straight lineup appearance as well. Reed Malleck (York, Neb.), who posted Nebraska's top finish at the season-opening Rod Myers Invitational, returns to the lineup, while senior Branden Meyer will make his first lineup appearance of the season. Sophomore Jeremy Sisson also will travel with the Huskers and play as an individual in the tournament.

Last week, the Huskers took 10th at the 18-team Tucker Invitational, as Marshall fired a career-best 221 for a career-best tie for 28th individually. Caleb Badura and Mark Foelbaek tied for NU's next finishes at 223 (T36th).
