Big Ten Names Men's Golfers to Watch

Nebraska's Branden Meyer, Mark Foelbaek and Jack Lundin headline the list of Big Ten Men's Golfers to Watch announced by the conference on Thursday, Jan. 21.

Meyer, a senior from Gilbert, Ariz., enters his second season in the Nebraska men's golf program after posting Nebraska's No. 2 stroke average (75.53) a year ago. The 2019 NJCAA Division II All-American went 3-1 to help Nebraska advance to the semifinals of the 2020 Big Ten Match Play Championship. He closed his first year at Nebraska as a GCAA All-America Scholar.

Foelbaek also begins his second season at Nebraska after an NJCAA Division I All-America career. Foelbaek, who was named Nebraska's Lifter of the Year for men's golf, had a strong fall season while competing as an individual, including a victory at the Nebraska Open in Columbus.

Lundin, a true freshman from Sioux Falls, S.D., is ready to make an impact on the Nebraska lineup. A two-time South Dakota AA State Champion, Lundin won the Midwest Junior Championship in the summer of 2020 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City with a 210 (-6) over 54 holes to break the tournament record. He won the tournament, which featured golfers from 11 states, by nine shots.

Nebraska is set to open its season at the Big Red Alumni Invite in Jacksonville, Jan. 30, before returning to Florida for the Big Ten Match Play Championship at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Feb. 5-6.
