A pair of Huskers were recognized this week by CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein. Alonzo Verge Jr. was selected as one of 30 Impact Transfers, while Bryce McGowens was tabbed as one of 25 Impact Freshmen.

Verge, a graduate transfer from Arizona State, averaged 14.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Sun Devils last season. He totaled five games of at least 20 points, including a season-high 28-point, eight-rebound effort against Oregon in the Pac-12 Tournament.

McGowens, the first five-star recruit in program history, totaled 2,341 points in high school during his high school career.  He was selected to play in the 2021 Allen Iverson Roundball Classic and was the Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina, averaging 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest for Legacy Early College last season.
