Nebraska's external operations team were honored by a pair of national organizations for their exceptional work during the 2020-21 season.
The Huskers' Athletic Marketing staff received first-place honors in Community Engagement and PR at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) virtual awards ceremony this week. Initiated in 2003, the NACMA "Best Of" Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. The Huskers' campaign, which ran across all of its social media channels as well as on its radio network, helped increase the brand profile on campus through engagement at live and virtual events, including the 2020 virtual Red/White spring game.
NU's Athletic Communications Office was chosen by the Football Writers of America (FWAA) as one of the "Super 11" for the 2020 football season. The FWAA gives out the honor annually to the best performing sports information departments in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and Nebraska was recognized for the seventh time (also 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018) in the award's 12-year history.
