SAAC Closes out the 2020-21 Year and Elects Officers for the 2021-22 Academic Year

The Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) had their last meeting of the 2020-21 academic year and has elected officers to lead the group for the 2021-22 academic year.

Although this past year looked different than others, SAAC still found a way to make an impact within Nebraska Athletics, the Big Ten, and the Lincoln Community. SAAC started off the year by creating a new officer position. This new position was the Social Justice Officer, whose duties included overseeing all parts of SAAC and making sure that Nebraska SAAC is truly representative of all Nebraska student-athletes. SAAC continued their regular monthly meetings through Zoom. Officers also attended senior staff meetings once a month and Big Ten meetings periodically virtually as well. SAAC reps also held a food drive to benefit the People's City Mission for the Thanksgiving season.

A big thank you to the officers who led us through an unprecedented 2020-21 academic year: President, Daniel Pearson (Men's Golf), Vice President, Evan Hymanson (Men's Gymnastics), Big Ten Representative, Tanner Owen (Men's Golf), Social Justice Officer, Sadio Fenner (Track & Field and Cross Country), and Secretary, Hallie Roman (Swim & Dive).

During the 2021-22 academic year, SAAC will be led by President Patrick Cacciatore (Men's Tennis), with support from Sam Phillips (Men's Gymnastics), as the Vice President. Kynsee Roby (Women's Gymnastics) will function as the Big Ten Representative, Sadio Fenner (Track & Field and Cross Country) will continue to serve as the Social Justice Officer, and Hallie Roman (Swim & Dive) will continue to serve as Secretary.
