Huskers Ready for Big Ten Championships

The Nebraska swimming team is set for five days of high-level competition as the Huskers gear up for the 2021 Big Ten Women's Swimming Championships in Minneapolis this week . The conference championship meet will be held at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, which is linked with Minnesota's University Recreation and Wellness Center.

Action begins on Tuesday at 5 p.m. (CT) with the 200 Medley Relay. Big Ten swimmers also will go head-to-head in the 800 freestyle relay on Thursday evening. The following days of the Big Ten Women's Swimming Championships will feature the preliminary races at 11 a.m., with the finals set for 6:30 p.m. (CT) each day. 

Nebraska's divers will compete in Big Ten Diving Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., beginning on Thursday. Each day of competition will feature one event, beginning with the preliminaries on the three-meter dive on Thursday at 11:20 a.m. (CT). The consolation dives follow at 2:05 p.m., with the final dives set for 6:40 p.m. Friday's action will feature the platform competition, before the championships conclude with the one-meter dive on Saturday.

Nebraska boasts a senior class of nine fantastic athletes competing in their final Big Ten Championship meet. The senior class includes Gabby Baratta, Madison Coughlen, Autumn Haebig, Abi Knapton, Izzie Murray, Jessica Pentlarge, Mira Rhodes and Grace Tiernon.

The 2021 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships will both be streamed live on BTN Plus. Fans can subscribe and watch the Huskers compete throughout the week.
