LINCOLN, Neb. – Twenty-two members of the Nebraska wrestling team head to Coralville, Iowa this weekend to compete at Senior Nationals. The event, hosted by USA Wrestling, will be held at Xtream Arena & GreenState Family Fieldhouse on Oct. 9-11.
Six Huskers are set to wrestle Greco-Roman and 16 to wrestle men's freestyle. The group includes all six of the team's returning All-Americans: Mikey Labriola, Ridge Lovett, Chad Red Jr., Peyton Robb, Eric Schultz and Taylor Venz. Eight Husker newcomers will also compete at the event.
Greco-Roman will compete Friday starting at 10 a.m. with consolations, semifinals and finals resuming at 4:30 p.m. Men's freestyle begins Saturday at 10 a.m. Quarterfinals, semifinals and consolations will be held at 4 p.m. with placement matches and finals starting Sunday at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.
The event will be streamed live by FloWrestling. Tickets are available at XtreamArena.com.
Senior Nationals will be conducted in accordance with requirements set by state and local health authorities. Safety provisions of the USA Wrestling Return to Events Guidelines will also be followed.
