Huskers Roll Past Rams

Lincoln, Neb.,--The Nebraska women's tennis team defeated Colorado State 6-1 Friday evening at the Dillon Tennis Center. With the win, NU improves to 6-3 on the year while Colorado State slips to 1-5.

Doubles
Claire Reifeis and Isabel Adrover Gallego raced to a 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot. At No. 2, Chloe and Ellie Kuckelman suffered a 6-3 loss. With the doubles score locked at 1-1, Hayley Haakenstad and Jessica Aragon broke a 5-5 tie to get the 7-5 win at the No. 6 spot. Haakenstad and Aragon improve to 2-1 at the No. 3 spot.

Singles
Reifeis improved to 3-3 on the year with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Emily Luetschwager at the No. 1 spot, putting the Huskers up 2-0 in the match. 

Haakenstad earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Emma Corwin at No. 5, moving to 3-0 in singles play. Chloe Kuckelman clinched the match for Nebraska with a 6-0, 6-3 win on court 3 over Priscilla Palermo. 

Aragon was unable to overcome a 7-5 defeat in the first set, falling to Alyssa Grijalva of CSU 7-5, 6-1

Anna Baranovski earned her first singles win as a Husker after a third set rally to defeat Anastasiia Kotsyuba 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.
 
Adrover Gallego fought off a four-game first set deficit to take the set 7-5, before falling 5-7 in the second. In the third set tiebreaker, the Mallorca, Spain, native closed out the match over Stella Cliffe 10-4.

The Huskers are back in action this Sunday morning at the Dillon Tennis Center as they take on Iowa State at 11 a.m. Food will be provided to fans at Sunday's match.
