Huskers Fall to Auburn, 6-1

Lincoln, Neb. -- The Nebraska men's tennis team hosted the Auburn Tigers on Sunday. In a hard fought match the Huskers came up short, losing 6-1. 

Victor Moreno Lozano claimed the only Husker point of the day, with a win decided in a super tie breaker at No. 2, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. 

The day began with the doubles matches, Patrick Cacciatore and Shunya Maruyama fell against Tom Wright and Finn Murgett, 6-1, at court No. 2. Albert Sprlak-Puk and Victor Moreno Lozano took the victory against Matteo DeVincentis and Tyler Stice, 6-4, No. 1. The doubles point was decided in a tiebreaker at the No. 3 spot. The Husker pair of William Gleason and Bradley Mittleman was handed the loss from Diego Chavarria and Anders Fry, 7-6 (5).  

The Huskers then began to compete in the singles matches. Court No. 3 finished play first with Tyler Stice handing Patrick Cacciatore the loss, 6-0, 6-2. On No. 6 Bradley Mittleman was defeated by Spencer Gray, 6-3, 6-2. At No.4 Andre Saleh fell short Matteo DeVincentis, 6-2, 6-3. Tim Dollman handed Albert Sprlak-Puk the loss on No.1, 6-2, 7-5. Shunya Maruyama was also defeated by Finn Murgett at No. 5, 7-5, 6-1. 

The Huskers look to find success against the UMKC Roos later in the day. The match will begin at 4 p.m. (CT).  Results
