What does it mean to be a letterwinner at Nebraska?
Being a letterwinner represents unity, hard work & dedication. In the athletics/athlete world it seems so big meaning that the majority of the time, you’re surrounded by other athletes having the same goals/dreams as you, but in the big picture the athletic/athlete world is so small compared to the entire university or state. Whenever I see that letter or someone else with that letter, it brings a warm feeling to my heart & smile to my face because we’re all family in this big world.

There is No Place Like Nebraska rings true for many student-athletes and letterwinners. What does this saying mean to you?
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the world & no matter where I go there has always been at least one person who says “Go Big Red.” I’m originally from Southern California but sometimes I forget that because Nebraska has become such a big part of who I have become. I’m so thankful, not only for the university, but for the whole state of Nebraska making me a better person.

What is your fondest memory as a UNL student-athlete?
My fondest memory at UNL was in 2013 when we went to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. I always knew that we as a team were representing the University but for some reason that stage made it even more real. Seeing those kids in the stands with Nebraska shirts & face paint on was something I’ll never forget. I remember feeling so proud to wear Nebraska across my chest because I felt so “at home.”

What is one thing you would like to share with other letterwinner alumni?
One thing I would like to share with other letterwinners is thank you. You’ve paved the way on how to represent, dedicate & love a place the right way. Thank you for opening my eyes to the Nebraska family & allowing me to leave my imprint. I hope & strive to help the generations after me like the generations before me did. Like we always say, Once a Husker Always a Husker.

What is the story that got you to Nebraska?
My story is actually a we story. I have a fraternal twin named Tatum Edwards. Growing up we knew that we wanted to go to college & play softball together. Nebraska was the first school that had sent us both letters of interest & Coach Revelle had actually handwritten a letter to each one of us. That was definitely a stand out moment because that was very personable & heart felt. We took an unofficial visit to the university in 2008 & we fell in love with the softball coaching staff, team, facilities, academic staff etc. It was such an unbelievable experience. I remember both of us being in shock on the flight back home thinking wow this could really be a possibility. It wasn’t until we both had built strong bonds with the coaching staff that we knew Nebraska was the right place for us. Tatum & I knew that there wasn’t a future for softball after college, at the time, so we wanted to make & leave the university better than how we got to it. We wanted to get Nebraska back to a championship platform & that was always our goal to do together, anything we could do we wanted to get it done & do even more. I’m so thankful for my years at Nebraska, it has made me into the woman I am today & I’m so proud of that. Once a Husker, Always a Husker.
