The Nebraska women's tennis team (4-1) is set to travel to Orlando, Fla., Feb. 14-16 for a trio of matches over the weekend at USTA National Campus. The Huskers will take on UCSB, TCU, and UCF on Feb. 14-16. 

Nebraska will begin the weekend on Friday at 11 a.m. CT against UCSB, followed by the doubles point only against TCU 4 p.m. CT. There will be no competition on Saturday and play will resume Sunday morning as the Huskers take on TCU in singles at 7:30 a.m. CST followed by UCF at 11:30 a.m.

Scouting Santa Barbara
The Gauchos enter Orlando with a 1-4 record after a tough front-end of the 2020 schedule.  UCSB kicked off the season with a 5-2 win over San Francisco before four consecutive losses to a talented slate of teams including Florida State, Miami, USC, and UCLA. 

In 2019, UCSB went 14-8 overall with an impressive 7-1 mark in the Big West.

UCSB is led by Head Coach Simon Thibodeau in his seventh season. In 2016 and 2017, Thibodeau led the Gauchos to back-to-back Big West Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.

Scouting TCU
The Horned Frogs enter this weekend's competition with a 2-0 record on the year. TCU defeated Rice 4-3 in their season-opener and swept New Mexico 4-0 last week. 

Sophomore Mercedes Aristegul holds a 2-0 record playing out of the No. 1 spot. Aristegul and Margaret Polk have a 1-1 mark as a doubles team playing at the No. 3 spot. The Horned Frogs are led by Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker who has been leading the program since 2014. In his coaching career, he has made four NCAA tournament appearances with three of those coming during his time at TCU and most recently in 2017.

In 2019, TCU was 12-10 overall including a 4-5 record in the Big Twelve.

Scouting UCF
The No.15 Knights currently hold a 3-2 record in 2020 with wins over Utah and No. 18 Texas A&M. Their two losses come at the hands of No. 15 Michigan and No. 9 Florida State. 

UCF has three singles players nationally ranked as well as three doubles teams. Senior, Rebeka Stolmar leads the singles rankings sitting at No. 32 behind a 12-6 record in fall tournament play. Stolmar is also part of the Knight's most dominant doubles team, pairing up with Marie Mattel. The duo is currently ranked No. 5 after recently beating the No. 18 team out of Texas A&M.

The Knights are led by Head Coach Bryan Koniecko who is in his fourth season with the UCF program. Koniecko guided UCF to their best season in program history in 2019  when they went 24-4 and won an American Conference Championship. In the NCAA tournament, the Knight's advanced to the Sweet 16 with wins over Alabama and Florida State before falling to Pepperdine, 4-2.   

Last Time Out
Nebraska is coming off their first loss of the season at Baylor. The Huskers fell to the Bears 6-1 in Waco, Texas on Feb. 8th. 

Novak Remains Unbeaten
Freshman Kristina Novak is coming off a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Baylor's Mel Krywoj. With the win, Novak moves to 4-0 on the year including two wins at No. 2 and two wins at No. 1.
