The Nebraska track and field team announced its six team captains for the 2020 season on Thursday.
The men's team captains are: Luke Siedhoff, Tyler Loontjer and Ty Moss.
The women's team captains are: Andy Jacobs, Petra Luteran and Kristina Insingo.
Luke Siedhoff, Sr., Hurdles, Crete, Neb. (Crete)
2019 Indoor: Earned second-team All-Big Ten honors finishing as the runner-up in the 60m hurdles at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a PR time of 7.83...won the 60m hurdle title at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
2019 Outdoor: Garnered USTFCCCA second-team All-America honors in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.86 to finish 15th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...finished fourth in the 110m hurdles at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a time of 13.88...won the 110m hurdle title at the Husker Invite and Texas Tech Shootout.
Tyler Loontjer, Sr., Pole Vault, Geneva, Neb. (Fillmore Central)
2019 Indoor: Finished 11th in the pole vault at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a clearance of 16-4 1/2 (4.99m)...set a PR of 17-5 1/2 (5.32m) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, good to tie for the No. 10 mark all-time in program history...won the pole vault title at the Graduate Classic and Mark Colligan Invitational.
2019 Outdoor: Set a season-best height of 17-4 1/2 (5.30m) at the Texas Relays...won the pole vault crown at the Herm Wilson Invitational...missed the rest of the season after the second outdoor meet due to injury and received a medical hardship.
Ty Moss, Sr., Middle Distance, Naperville, Ill. (Neuqua Valley)
2019 Indoor: Placed fifth in the 600m with a time of 1:18.49 at the Big Ten Indoor Championships...set a PR in the 800m with a time of 1:50.74o at the Iowa State Classic...ran a season-best in the 600m in a time of 1:18.32 at the Nebraska Tune-Up, the No. 9 time on a standard-track in NU history...won the distance medley relay crown (9:47.07) at the Graduate Classic and the 4x400m relay title (93:13.77) at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
2019 Outdoor: Finished ninth in the 800m at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a time of 1:50.58...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round and was 37th in the 800m with a time of 1:51.71...ran an 800m PR time of 1:48.32 at the Bryan Clay Invitational....won the 800m title at the Husker Invitational.
Andy Jacobs, Jr., Pole Vault, Rochester, Minn. (Rochester Century)
2019 Indoor: Placed third in the pole vault at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a clearance of 13-3 (4.04m)...set a season best of 13-7 3/4 (4.16m) at the Nebraska Tune-Up...won the pole vault title at the Graduate Classic and Mark Colligan Memorial.
2019 Outdoor: Finished third in the pole vault at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a height of 13-6 1/4 (4.12m)...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round and was 31st with a clearance of 13-4 1/4 (4.07m)...earned a personal-best mark of 13-9 3/4 (4.21m) at the Texas Relays, good for the No. 5 clearance in program history...won the pole vault crown at the Husker Invitational and Nebraska Invitational.
Petra Luteran, Jr., Jumps, Szarliget, Hungary (Tatabanyai Arpad Gimnazium)
2019 Indoor: Redshirted while recovering from an injury. In 2018, she was the runner-up in the high jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a height of 5-11 1/4 (1.81m)...had a personal-best clearance of 6-0 3/4 (1.85m) at the Air Force Invitational, good to tie for the No. 8 mark in NU history.
2019 Outdoor: Finished 12th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a season-best height of 5-5 (1.65m) in the high jump...placed second at the Husker Invitational while competing unattached.
Kristina Insingo, Sr., Floral Park, N.Y. (Holy Trinity Diocesan)
2019 Indoor: Finished 12th in the shot put with a throw of 49-2 1/4 (14.99m) and 21st in the weight throw with a mark of 55-5 3/4 (16.91m) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships...set a PR in the weight throw with a toss of 59-4 3/4 (18.10m) at the Mark Colligan Memorial...won the shot put at the Nebraska Tune-Up with a personal-best distance of 50-10 (15.49m).
2019 Outdoor: Placed 12th in the shot put at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a toss of 49-7 3/4 (15.13m)...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the shot put and was 33rd with a mark of 50-0 (15.24m)...set a PR in the shot put at the Husker Invitational with a mark of 52-2 1/2 (15.91m)...threw a season-best in the hammer throw at the Crimson Tide Invitational with a toss of 164-0 (49.98m)...won the shot put title at the Herm Wilson Invitational and Bobcat Invitational.
The Nebraska track and field team will begin its 2019-20 season with the annual Nebraska Intrasquad meet on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track.
