Nebraska beat No. 3 Stephen F. Austin (952-928), No. 16 St. Francis (PA) (1,072-933), and No. 14 Tulane (1,036-959) to begin the day 3-0. They then lost to both No. 5 Sam Houston State (896-990) and No. 1 Vanderbilt (1,079-1,122).
Nebraska will face Elmhurst to begin traditional play on day two.
Combined results from Friday, Saturday and a traditional match on Sunday morning will determine the seeding for Sunday's bracket-play championship tournament, where each team will play rounds of best-of-seven Baker matches beginning at 8:30 a.m.
