What does it mean to be a letterwinner at the University of Nebraska?
It means that you are representing the N every day when you come to school or are playing your sport. It is something to be proud of.
What is your fondest memory as a University of Nebraska student-athlete?
My fondest memory as an athlete was playing in the Big 10 tournament last year when we went on a little run. I had my family in the stands there in Chicago, which meant a lot to me as well.
What is one thing you would like to share with other letterwinner alumni across the country and world?
That you are forever going to be a part of the N Club. Your fondest memories a lot of the time come from your time here as a student-athlete and having those memories are something you can always cherish for the rest of your life.
What is the story that got you to Nebraska?
I grew up in Iceland, and started playing basketball when I was 7. I knew pretty early on that I wanted to pursue basketball and work to be the best version of myself. I knew that going to college was one of the best ways to do that. I got recruited through playing with the National Team in Iceland and came to Nebraska on a visit in 2017 and fell in love with the place. The facilities and the town were an immediate fit for me and I knew I wanted to come here.
What is the difference between the international game of basketball and the game over here in the United States?
It used to be that Americans were always way better. Europe is now catching up and so is the rest of the world. I have been playing a lot of international tournaments since I was 15 and things are getting better. American basketball seems to be more athletic and faster thinking while Europe is more skill level based and more fundamentals.
