The Nebraska women's basketball team has added a Big Ten Network television appearance early in its conference schedule, and the Huskers will appear three times statewide on Nebraska Educational Television (NET) during Big Ten play in 2020.
Those four additional TV appearances came after the initial Big Ten Network announcement in September of at least five Nebraska women's basketball games being televised during the 2019-20 season.
Nebraska's road game at Michigan State on New Year's Eve was upgraded to a BTN telecast from its original designation as a BTN+ video stream. The Huskers and Spartans will tip off at noon (CT) in East Lansing on Dec. 31.
The Huskers will make their first BTN appearance of the season against Duke as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. (CT). The recently added BTN game against Michigan State will be Nebraska's second network appearance of the season.
The Big Red will be back on BTN in front of the Pinnacle Bank Arena crowd against Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 5 p.m. (CT). The Huskers will also appear on BTN at Maryland (Jan. 16, 7 p.m.), at home against Michigan (Jan. 19, 4 p.m.) and at Wisconsin (Jan. 25, 11 a.m.).
In addition to the BTN appearances, NET will provide a statewide telecast of Nebraska's home game against Wisconsin on Thursday, Jan. 9. Tip-off for the first game between the Huskers and Badgers is set for 7 p.m. NET also will provide the production of the video stream to BTN+ subscribers for the game with the Badgers and Nebraska's other NET telecasts during the season.
Nebraska's second statewide NET appearance will come Sunday, Feb. 2 against Ohio State. Tip-off between the Big Red and the Buckeyes at Pinnacle Bank Arena is set for 2 p.m. NU's final NET appearance will come on Thursday, Feb. 13, when the Huskers take on Penn State at 7 p.m.
At the end of the Big Ten Conference season, Nebraska's final home game against Illinois (Feb. 22) and regular-season finale on the road at Indiana (Feb. 27) could be selected for BTN telecasts. Those decisions will be made by the network late in the conference season.
All of the early round games in the Big Ten Tournament will be televised live by BTN, leading up to the championship game on Sunday, March 8, which will be televised by ESPN2.
