Huskers Travel to Texas for Maridoe Intercollegiate

Lincoln, Neb. --- The Nebraska men's golf team will be back in action this Sunday at the second annual Maridoe Intercollegiate hosted by the University of North Texas in Carrollton, Texas. 

The 12-team field will feature three NCAA tournament teams (Arkansas State, SMU and Texas A&M) along with Little Rock, Louisiana, New Mexico, North Texas, San Francisco, UTEP, UTSA and Washington. 

Nebraska will have a quick turnaround as they finished their second tournament of the year at the Prairie Club Invitational on Monday. The team finished tied for fifth while shooting a 901 (+25). Highlighting the tournament was Tanner Owen, who had a career-best third place finish after firing a 217 (-2) at the Prairie Club. Owen has been the Huskers highest finisher in the first two tournaments of the year.

Junior Branden Meyer will once again be in the Huskers lineup after his first top-25 finish at the Prairie Club while shooting a 224 (+5) to finish second among Huskers for the second straight week.

Junior Mark Foelbaek will also make his third consecutive start for the Huskers. Foelbaek also cracked the top-25 last week, as he tied for 23rd after shooting a 235 (+16) at the Prairie Club. 

Senior Mitch Klooz, junior Tom Westenberger and freshman Will Marshall will all be traveling with the starting lineup to be decided on Saturday. 

Sunday's and Monday's rounds will begin at 8:30 a.m (CT) with Tuesday's round beginning at 8:00 a.m. (CT). This will be Nebraska's first trip to the Maridoe Golf Club.
