Former Nebraska track and field thrower Chad Wright tied for 25th in the discus at the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Saturday morning.
Wright, competing for Jamaica, had a best throw of 198-10 (60.60m) to finish tied for 25th.
Wright previously took 17th at the IAAF World Championships in 2015 and captured the discus title at the Jamaican National Championships in 2014. The Kingston, Jamaica native, was an NCAA Champion in the discus for Nebraska in 2012. Wright finished his collegiate career as a four-time first-team All-American in the discus and won the Big Ten outdoor crown as a senior in 2014. Wright's personal-best in college was 209-10 (63.96m), which ranks fifth in NU outdoor history.
