Former Husker Liz Kuhlkin won gold as part of Team USA's Trios at the 2019 World Bowling Women's Championships at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Aug. 22-30.
Kuhlkin, who was the National Tenpin Coaches Association Bowler of the Year while leading Nebraska to the NCAA title as a senior in 2015, was the top bowler for the U.S. Trios. Kuhlkin rolled a finals-best individual score of 233 in the team's 655-632 win over Colombia. Her performance in the championship match followed an individual-best 235 in the U.S. Trios team's 669-628 victory over Mexico in the semifinals. Kuhlkin partnered with Jordan Richard and Missy Parkin on the U.S. Trios team.
Kuhlkin, a three-time first-team NTCA All-American as a Husker, was also one of six bowlers who helped Team USA to a bronze medal in the team competition at the World Championships.
