Pearson, Fenner Set for USATF Junior Championships

The USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships will take place at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida, this weekend. A pair of Huskers who just completed their freshman seasons are declared to compete in the meet.

Zionn Pearson qualified in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 19-11 3/4 (6.09m) at the Big Ten Championships. The long jump will take place on Sunday at 1:15 p.m.

Sadio Fenner had a qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Big Ten Championships with a PR time of 9:31.93. He will compete on Saturday at 6:50 p.m.

The top two finishers in each event will qualify for the U.S. Junior National team that will compete at the IAAF World U20 Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica on July 19-21.

Additionally, Tony Nou will compete in the European Games in Minsk, Belarus between the dates of June 23-28.
