Huskers Head for Big Ten Championships

Iowa City, Iowa - The No. 6 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team begins postseason competition at the Big Ten Championships April 5-6 in Iowa City, Iowa. After topping No. 2 Michigan, NU hopes to use that momentum heading into the postseason. The Huskers have a lot to prove after taking sixth place at the Big Ten Championships last year. Team Finals and Individual Qualifiers will take place on April 5 at 7 p.m. Gymnasts who qualify will advance to Individual Finals on April 6 at 7 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team claimed three event titles at this afternoon’s senior day meet, topping the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines. Senior Anton Stephenson claimed individual titles on vault (15.05), floor (14.40) and parallel bars (14.75). As a team, the Huskers posted season high scores on vault, parallel bars and still rings. Nebraska placed first with a season high team score (408.700) and Michigan came in second (403.800).

Scouting the Competition
The No. 1 Minnesota Gophers enter the competition after topping No. 3 Iowa and No. 5 Penn State on March 23. Minnesota claimed first (410.950), Iowa placed second (406.350) and Penn State placed third (398.200)

The No. 2 Michigan Wolverines enter the competition after falling short at NU on March 23. The No. 6 Huskers claimed three event titles, claiming first with a 408.700 and Michigan placed second with a 403.800.

The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes enter the competition after topping No. 6 Illinois. Ohio State claimed first (406.600) and Illinois placed second (404.000).
