Knapton Receives Honorable Mention All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

Austin, Texas- Two-time All-American Abigail Knapton received honorable mention All-American honors after her performance in the three-meter dive at the NCAA Championships.

Knapton finished seventh overall with a final score of 639.10 (333.90 carried over from prelims). This marks Knapton's and Nebraska's highest placing ever on the springboard. 

Diving coach Natasha Chikina mentioned her thoughts on Knapton's performance. 

"Abi did a great job fighting back in the preliminary round to get into the consolation final," coach Chikina said."It was a big step up for her."

Knapton and freshman Jessica Warak will compete in the platform-dive event tomorrow to complete the Huskers’ competition at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
