NU Set for Big Ten Matchup Against OSU, Minnesota

No. 8 Husker men's gymnastics team returns to competition Friday, March 8, for a matchup against the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 6 Minnesota Golden Gophers in Columbus, Ohio. The meet is slated for a 5 p.m. CT start and will be streamed live on the Big Ten Plus.

Last Time Out
The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team claimed three event titles against the No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes. Anton Stephenson claimed the floor event title (14785), Charlie Giles claimed the vault title with a career-high score (14.70) and Jake Bonnay claimed the high bar title (13.85). Iowa claimed first (406.700) and Nebraska placed second (403.550).

Scouting the Competition
Minnesota
No. 6 Minnesota enters the competition after falling short to No. 5 Illinois and No. 2 Stanford with a team score of 404.750 on March 2.

The Golden Gophers were led by sophomore Shane Wiskus, who claimed the all-around title. Wiskus, ranked No. 5 all-around, recorded a career-high score of 83.750. He also finished second on high bar with a new career record score of 14.250 and third on pommel horse with a 13.350 en route to the all-around title.

Ohio State
No. 7 Ohio State enters the competition after notching a season-high and defeating Penn State 413.150-409.000 on March 2 at the Arnold Challenge.

The Buckeyes were led by Alec Yoder, who took first place on the pommel with 14.800. The team was also led by Jesse Tyndall, brother of Husker gymnast Mitch Tyndall, who took first place on the parallel bars with a 14.600 and tallying a 14.000 on the high bar.
