Freyhof Named Big Ten Athlete of the Week

Nebraska sophomore Erika Freyhof was named the Big Ten Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced.

Freyhof finished second at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, last Friday with a personal-best time of 17:18.8 in the 5K race. Her time was a 1:08 improvement from her performance as a freshman at the 2017 Augustana Twilight.

A native of Hamilton, Michigan, Freyhof led the Husker women to a second-place finish in the team race with 45 points. 

The Huskers will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 15 when they host the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational at Mahoney Golf Course.
