10 Huskers to Compete at U23 World Team Trials

Ten Nebraska wrestlers will be in action this weekend at the USA Wrestling U23 Freestyle World Team Trials in Akron, Ohio.

The list of Huskers in action includes All-Americans Tyler Berger (70 kg) and Taylor Venz (86 kg). Half of NU's starting lineup from last season will compete at the tournament, as departed senior Colton McCrystal (65 kg), sophomore Eric Schultz (92 kg) and junior David Jensen (125 kg) join Berger and Venz in Akron. The full list of Huskers competing at the trials is below.

The winners at the trials will make the U23 World Team, which will compete at the 2018 U23 World Championships Nov. 12-18 in Bucharest, Romania.

Freestyle competition begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. (CT), and continues with the quarterfinal round at 3 p.m. The semifinals, medal matches, and best-of-three finals begin Sunday at 9:30 a.m. A live video stream and complete results are available at FloWrestling.org.
