BALTIMORE, Md. - The 2018 Big Ten Championships are set for this weekend and the Nebraska men's golf team is ready to compete. The 54-hole event will tee off on Friday with first-round action starting at 8 a.m. CT. The second round is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the final round scheduled for 8 a.m. on Sunday. The conference championships will be held at the par-70, 7,181-yard Baltimore Country Club’s Five Farms East Course.
Tanner Owen will lead the Husker squad in the No. 1 slot. Owen is coming off a team-leading score of 149 at the Hawkeye Invitational, where he placed 14th overall. The sophomore will look to capitalize on his momentum and make a mark at the conference tournament.
Junior captain Jace Guthmiller will fill in at the No. 2 spot in the lineup after coming off a tied-for-40th finish at the event in Iowa City. Guthmiller will look to get back on top of the Husker standings after pacing the team six times this season. Cameron Jones will compete in the No. 3 slot for the Huskers after last competing at the Bighorn Invitational, where he finished tied for 62nd with 230 overall.
Junior captain Jackson Wendling will take the No. 4 spot as he looks to get back on top of the standings. Wendling is coming off a tied-for-47th place finish at the Hawkeye Invitational where he scored 155. Sean Song will round out the lineup and is coming off a score of 161 at the Hawkeye, where he placed 65th.
