The Nebraska men's tennis team will continue Big Ten play with a road trip to No. 48 Penn State on Saturday, April 7 and No. 3 Ohio State on Sunday, April 8. The Huskers will also face off against Dayton in Dayton, Ohio on April 8.
In their last outing, the Huskers fell to No. 8 Illinois 6-1 at the Dillon Tennis Center. During that match, the duo of junior Toby Boyer and senior Linus Erhart defeated No. 47 Aleks Vukic and Aron Hiltzik 6-3 in the No. 1 position resulting in Boyer and Erhart to enter the top 100 rankings for duos at No. 81.
Scouting Penn State
The Nittany Lions welcome the Huskers to University Park, Penn. for an 11 a.m. (Central) match. Penn State currently has an 11-9 overall record with wins over Temple, No. 39 Western Michigan, Central Florida and No. 42 Princeton and currently hold a 1-4 Big Ten record with their lone win coming against Michigan State, 5-1. Penn State is currently on a three game losing streak with their most recent losses coming from No. 8 Michigan, No. 50 Wisconsin and No. 33 Minnesota. Last season, the Huskers fell to Penn State 5-2 in Lincoln.
Scouting Ohio State
Ohio State is currently ranked No. 3 nationally and has 19-2 overall record with wins over No. 18 Duke, No. 30 Notre Dame, No. 9 Florida, No. 13 Southern California and No. 6 North Carolina. The Buckeyes are also undefeated in conference play with wins over Michigan State, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin and are currently on a seven game winning streak. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series against the Huskers 10-0 with the last meeting being won by the Buckeyes 7-0 in Lincoln. Ohio State will take on Iowa Friday, April 6 before welcoming the Huskers to Columbus, Ohio for an 11 a.m. (Central) match.
Scouting Dayton
Dayton currently holds a 15-3 overall record with wins over Air Force, Xavier and George Mason. The Flyers are currently on a four game win streak and will host Big Ten opponent Iowa on Friday, April 6 before hosting the Huskers in Dayton, Ohio for a 6 p.m. (Central) match.
Returning Home
The Huskers will return home to face off against Purdue on Friday, April 13 for a match beginning at 4 p.m. (Central) and Sunday, April 15 for a match against Indiana beginning at Noon (Central). The Big Red will end their home matches with a match against Drake on Wednesday, April 18 beginning at 4 p.m. (Central).
