The Nebraska women’s tennis team (13-3, 2-2 Big Ten) hits the road this weekend to open a streak of four consecutive road matches. The Huskers will visit Purdue on Friday at 11 a.m. and Indiana on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Nebraska visits the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday. Purdue is 8-8 on the season with a 1-3 mark in Big Ten Conference competition. The Boilermakers are coming off a loss at No. 29 Michigan last weekend, which snapped a two-match winning streak. Five of Purdue's eight losses have come to ranked teams, including No. 29 Michigan, No. 6 Illinois, No. 8 Northwestern, No. 15 Kansas and No. 23 Ole Miss. The Boilermakers also own a win over No. 38 Arkansas and have defeated Wisconsin in conference play.
Nebraska looks to even the all-time series record with Purdue this weekend, as the Boilermakers currently leads the series 4-3. The Huskers won last year's meeting by a 5-2 score in Lincoln when returners Vasanti Shinde, Katerina Matysova, Claire Reifeis and Hayley Haakenstad all claimed wins in either singles or doubles play.
The Big Red then travels to Bloomington for a dual with Indiana. The Hoosiers welcome the Huskers with a 13-6 season record, including a 1-3 record in Big Ten action. Indiana snapped a three-match losing streak with a win over Minnesota last weekend, which improved IU to 11-1 at home this season. The Hoosiers are set to face Iowa at home on Saturday before facing Nebraska the following day.
The all-time series between Nebraska and Indiana is tied at 2-2. The teams are meeting for the first time since 2015, when Indiana edged Nebraska, 4-3, in Lincoln.
