Huskers Return Home for Weekend of Matches

Lincoln, Neb. -- The Nebraska men's tennis team will return to action at the Dillon Tennis Center with two matches Friday, March 31 against Northwestern and Sunday, April 1 against No. 7 Illinois.

The Huskers are still searching for their first Big Ten win of the season after dropping two road matches to Iowa, 6-1 in Iowa City and to No. 33 Minnesota, 6-1 in Minneapolis.

Northwestern comes to Lincoln with an overall record of 6-9 with wins over Boise State, Georgia Tech and more. The Wildcats also have a Big Ten record of 1-1 with a win over Indiana and a loss to Illinois. 

Illinois comes to Lincoln with an overall record of 12-5 with wins over No. 19 Duke, No. 23 California, No. 19 Notre Dame and more. The Fighting Illini also have a Big Ten record of 3-0 with wins over Northwestern, Indiana and Purdue. 

The Big Red will hit the road to continue Big Ten play with a match on Saturday, April 7 against Penn State at 11 a.m. and two matches on Sunday, April 8 against Ohio State at 11 a.m. and a non-conference match against Dayton at 6 p.m. The team will return home on Friday, April 13 for a match against Purdue at 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 15 against Indiana at Noon at the Dillon Tennis Center. Admission to all home matches is free.
