Columbus, Ohio – Nebraska’s Autumn Haebig and Abi Knapton both competed at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday at McCorkle Aquaitc Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State.
Haebig, a freshman from Grafton, Wis., opened the day for the Huskers in the 100-meter backstroke. Haebig was unable to make the finals in her first trip to nationals, as she finished 40th in the preliminaries with a time of 53.55.
Knapton competed in the 3-meter dive and finished 22nd in the preliminaries with a score of 307.60. Knapton needed a top-16 finish to advance to the finals.
Knapton’s weekend isn’t over though, as the Omaha native will compete in the platform dive on Saturday. Knapton earned All-America honors last season with a fourth-place finish in the platform competition.
