The Nebraska baseball team (10-7) hosts Northwestern State (10-7) for a three-game series this weekend at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park to conclude a nine-game homestand. Friday’s opener between the Huskers and Demons is set for 4:05 p.m. (CT). Saturday’s game is a 2:05 p.m. first pitch, while Sunday is slated to begin at 11:05 a.m. Single-game tickets can be purchased at Huskers.com/tickets.
It is “Embrace the Cold” weekend at Hawks Field with several giveaways planned. The first 500 fans for Friday’s game will get a Nebraska baseball knit pom beanie. The first 500 fans for Saturday will get a voucher for a $1 hot beverage at concessions. The first 150 fans for Sunday will get a Nebraska ice scraper.

Friday and Sunday’s games will be carried on TuneIn.com and the TuneIn App on the Husker IMG Sports Network channel. Saturday’s game won’t be on TuneIn. Fans in Lincoln can listen on 1400 AM for all three games.

Last Time Out
The Huskers earned a 1-1 split at home against Northern Colorado earlier this week. After dropping Tuesday’s opener by a 6-3 margin, NU bounced back with a 14-2 win on Wednesday to pick up its 10th victory of the season.
Next Up
The Huskers head to Tulsa, Okla., for a pair of midweek games against Oral Roberts. Tuesday’s opener is set for 6:30 p.m. (CT), while Wednesday’s finale is slated for 1 p.m.

Scouting the Northwestern State Demons
- Nebraska leads the all-time series against Northwestern State, 2-1, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 2000. The last meeting was in 2004. Nebraska has never hosted the Demons, but holds a 1-0 record on the road and a 1-1 record at neutral sites.
- Northwestern State is 10-7 this season and enters the weekend on a three-game winning streak. The Demons routed ULM on Tuesday, 14-3, after taking two of three against Nicholls State. Northwestern State opened the season by winning two of three against Binghamton before a loss to ULM. The Demons won two of three against Penn before finishing February with a win over Louisiana Tech. NWSU opened March by winning two of three against Little Rock before going 0-2 against Texas A&M.
- The Demons rank second in the nation in double plays (22) and sixth in the nation in double plays per game (1.29). David Fry’s nine doubles rank seventh individually in the nation.
