Huskers Go Undefeated at Stormin' Ladyjack Invitational

Houston, Texas - The top-ranked Nebraska bowling team is undefeated after Friday’s competition at the Stormin’ Ladyjack Invitational in Houston, Texas, as the Huskers beat four ranked teams to post a 5-0 record and total pinfall of 5,050, good forsecond place behind second-ranked McKendree.

 

The Huskers kicked off the tournament with a victory over St. Francis Brooklyn by a score of 891-858, before NU downed No. 18 Duquesne, 1,068-902.

 

In their third match of the day, the Huskers continued their dominance, defeating No. 11 Adelphi, 939-866.

 

NU continued to build momentum over the final two matches of the day, as the Huskers found consecutive wins over No. 16 LIU Brooklyn (1,137-957) and No. 20 Wisconsin Whitewater (1,015-906) to close out the day.

 

The Stormin’ Ladyjack Invitational continues Saturday at 9:30 a.m., beginning with a match-up between the Huskers and No. 4 Vanderbilt. The Big Red will then play No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore and No. 13 Alabama-Birmingham before closing out the day with matches against McKendree and No. 22 Maryville.

 

Friday and Saturday’s combined results will determine the seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship tournament, in which each team will play three rounds of best-of-seven Baker matches, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
