Huskers Fall to Rutgers

New Brunswick- The Nebraska swim and dive team fell to Rutgers this past weekend with a final score of 186-167.

On the diving front, All-American Abi Knapton captured a second-place finish in both the three-meter dive (324.08) and the one meter (282.68).

The Big Red earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with Autumn Haebig, Gwen Worlton, Izzie Murray and Lindsay Helferich in the lane (1:44.57).

Team captain Kaylyn Flatt finished third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.13) and sophomore Tori Beeler took first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.50).

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Worlton found a first-place finish (1:04.24), followed by Beeler for second (1:04.83).

Anna McDonald finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.01) and Haebig followed behind for second (2:03.57).

The Huskers earned second (1:36.08) and third-place (1:39.15) finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay and a first-place victory in the 400-yard medley relay (3:48.36).

Flatt got on the board once again for the Huskers with her third-place victory in 1650-yard freestyle relay. 

Senior team captain Jordan Ehly won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.97), followed by Worlton (2:19.61) and Beeler (2:20.79) rounding out the top three, respectively. 

Freshman standout Haebig finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.95) and Flatt came in second (1:53.32).

McDonald took third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:25.38). The Huskers finished the meet off strong with capturing the top two positions in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:28.16 and 3:30.16, respectively).

With this loss, the Huskers will advance to 4-3 on the season, and 1-1 in Big Ten play. The Huskers will head to the Ohio State Winter Invitational February 10-11.
