Valentine, Neb. – The Nebraska men’s golf team finished in ninth place at the Jackrabbit Invitational with an overall score of 858. The Huskers shot 285 in the first round, 279 in the second round, and 294 in the final round. The end of the third round concluded action on the 7,726-yard, par-72 Dunes Course at Prairie Club.
Santa Clara maintained the lead and finished in first with an overall score of 825. Tennessee took second with a score of 828. Kansas (834) took third, with Boise State and South Carolina (841) tying for fourth to round out the top five.
Tanner Owen led Nebraska with an overall score of 210 and is tied for 17th. Jace Guthmiller is tied for 44th and posted an overall mark of 216.
Jackson Wendling (217) is tied for 51st, Cameron Jones (223) is tied for 65th and Daniel Pearson (224) is tied for 67th.
Nebraska’s next outing will be Oct. 9-10 at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in Houston, Texas. Action will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Golfcrest Country Club.
