Pre-Wisconsin
Junior Quarterback Tanner Lee
On degree of difficulty against Wisconsin
“I think everything goes up in terms of intensity, you’re heightened level of focus, your preparation, everything needs to take a step up when you’re playing a team like Wisconsin, or any team that is ranked as high as they are, have won games like they have. It’s going to take an all-out effort, and is something we’re looking forward to.”
On Wisconsin’s secondary
“It’s how disciplined they are, they seem comfortable in their coverage. They seem to be responding well to their first-year defensive coordinator, and are playing good, confident football.”
On practicing against the 3-4 defense
“It helps us out a lot going against it in spring and fall camp especially for so many reps. It helps our offensive line out, mixing up looks and different stunts and blitzes and things. So that will help us out.”
On frustration against schemes Diaco was presenting to the offense
“There was. They mix it up, especially things that we were seeing for the first time. It was fun to game plan them a little bit. It’ll help us, especially this week.”
On Michael Decker
“I think just great composure. He makes calls quickly. The rest of the guys on the line have a lot of confidence in him. He’s playing real well. I have a lot of confidence in him.”
On Stanley Morgan Jr.
“Knowing Stanley’s personality, I knew he was going to be fine. Work through it and figure it out, and find a way to feel good enough to make plays and that is what he did. I wasn’t too worried about him, I knew he wasn’t feeling great, but he still played really well. I have great confidence in him to get open and find holes and make catches in tough spots. A couple times there were balls behind him and he made really tough grabs so that’s big for me. It’s great to have him out there.”
On long drives and getting in a rhythm
“I think it’s just our coaches telling us to take things one play at a time, and it’s something we really focused on last game and it worked. I think guys are really focused on that and it showed and I thought that was really good to see.”
On being okay with punts against good defenses
“A lot of situations a punt is a win. Caleb has been doing a great job so being able to help our defense out with field position is really good.”
On completion percentage with screens
“I think I’m confident with throwing screens, but there is some we need to improve, I think we can be better there, just getting big plays out of them.”
On building off Friday’s performance
“I want to build off every performance, and as an offense we did a lot of good things, and a lot of things we can build off of in the future and know that we can feel comfortable running those different types of plays, and being confident in calling those in the future.”
