Valentine, Neb. – The Nebraska men’s golf team is tied for ninth place after the second round of the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Prairie Club. The Huskers shot 285 in the first round on Monday and 279 in the second round, bringing the total mark to 564 with one day of action left. The final round will begin at the 7,726 yard par-72 Dunes Course at Prairie Club on Tuesday.
Santa Clara is currently occupying the top spot with a score of 540, followed by Tennessee in second with a score of 547. Kansas is in third with a score of 551, Boise State (555) is in fourth, and South Carolina (557) is in fifth.
Jace Guthmiller led the Huskers in the second round after posting a score of 65. Guthmiller and teammate Tanner Owen are currently sit in a six-way tie for eighth place overall with a combined score of 137 after two rounds.
Jackson Wendling is tied for 37th place with an overall score of 142. Cameron Jones shot for a combined score of 149 and is sitting in a tie for 70th. Daniel Pearson rounds out the Huskers with an overall score of 152 and is currently in a tie for 79th place.
Nebraska will begin the third and final round on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
