CAREFREE, Ariz. - The Nebraska men’s golf team is currently in 10th place at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate after the first two rounds. The Huskers shot 298 in the first round on Friday at Desert Forest Golf Club and golfed a score of 304 in the second round, leading to a combined mark of 602 with one day left.
Kent State and Georgia Tech are tied for first with one round to go, each with a score of 577. There is currently a three-way tie for third between LSU, Arizona and Lipscomb with a score of 580.
Jace Guthmiller leads the Huskers and improved on his first round score to post a mark of 70. Guthmiller is currently tied for 5th place with a total score of 142.
Jackson Wendling is tied for 17th overall with a score of 145. Sean Song has shot for a combined score of 156 and is tied for 59th. Rounding out the Huskers' lineup is Tanner Owen (160) tied for 69th and Daniel Pearson (162) tied for 72nd.
Nebraska will begin the third and final round on Sunday beginning at 9:15 a.m. CT.
